What Motivates You?

What motivates you?

Definition of motivation: Factors within a human being or animal that arouse and direct goal-oriented behavior. Britannica

Whether you are trying to finish your college courses, stick to your work out routine, train for an Ironman Triathlon, clean out a closet, finish balancing your checkbook or starting a home business, each individual has different motivating factors that help us achieve our goals.

First, you must know what your goal is. Is it a short-term or long-term goal? Is it a personal, work, family, religious? NO matter what your goal, you must know why it is important to you.

Second, I would recommend taking time figuring out  why you chose that particular goal.  Is it a financial, spiritual, or physical goal?  You can do this by writing down a list of questions and really answering them truthfully.
* Are you in it for yourself?
* Is it on your Bucket List?
* Are you doing this for your family/loved ones?
* Do you need more money to pay the bills? Save for college? Get out of debt?
* Do you want to help others?
* Do you want to have more personal freedom? financial freedom?
* Have you always dreamed of being your own boss?

You need to find out your why so you can achieve your goals. You should do this before you do anything else.  My goals are to prepare for our future financially. Internet CEO moms has helped me realize the tools are right there for the taking.

The Dreaded Stairs

What have you done today that will impact your tomorrow? It is so much easier to continue down that same path than it is to take the path less traveled when you come to the fork in the road.

It is easy to take baby steps....something as simple as taking the stairs.

Toxic Brew in your Home.flv

What do you use to:  clean your house?  wash your clothes? dust? disinfect?
Do you ever take time to think about the chemicals in those products and the side effects associated with them?  I did not.  I was not very educated about what chemicals my kids were sleeping on or wearing all day long. I did not think about what I cleaned the kitchen table with and how many times food dropped off the plate and ended up in their mouth.

Take time today - you do not know what tomorrow brings

I am not posting this to make any one sad.  I am just hoping that because of the loss that our friend and her two children experienced 10 years ago, that we will all take time TODAY to realize what we have.

Here is a short article of the my husband's best friend that was killed in the line of duty 10 years ago.
